Our late work policy does apply to all students once they are managing their work and homework independently (usually Grade 6-12). As noted above, for students in Grades 1-5, the teacher will correct and use other strategies to ensure work is handed in and that parents are fully aware (often a note to parents ensures that students complete the missing work). Because the emphasis is on building habits and structure, managing late work is used as a teaching opportunity to change habits and behaviors so that there are no long-term issues in Grades 7-12). It would be rare to have a student be assigned no mark in Primary or Junior School, based on the parental and teacher supports available.
