Special Circumstances - Online Classroom Attendance Check

Teachers are required to take attendance at one other time, in addition to the start of class, during any required online course work. This is done at random and will consider any approved reasons such as being given permission to take a break.

Students must be marked present both times to be considered fully engaged in the online course. Teachers will use reasonable professional judgement for choosing when to take the second online attendance check and will enter this into Schoology if something has changed.

If a student is absent when the second attendance is taken, they will be considered absent for the entire class. By taking attendance at two different times, we are ensuring that students are getting their full 110 credit hours/ mandatory learning hours and are participating in class during blended online learning.

Students who have left and are late returning from a break/or when the attendance is taken, will be marked late.
