Parent Responsibilities Regarding Attendance

  • Please ensure that your child’s information on myInnovOak is up to date with all contacts.

  • Please provide numbers (particularly in businesses) that will give direct access to someone who will know the child’s circumstances. If we are to call the home number first, please list it first

  • Advise us of any changes in this information as they occur throughout the year as you are updating your data (you can send an email so they know a change has been made and can verify the information when its used for trips etc.).

  • If your child is to be absent from school beginning in the morning, please let us know prior to the start of the day, as outlined in Attendance Check Program.

  • If you call or email call regarding an absence please provide:

    • Your child’s name

    • Identify yourself and the relationship to your child

    • The name of the child’s teacher

    • The reason for the absence

Please make contact for each day of your child’s absence unless you know the period of time they will be away. In this case, it will not be necessary for you or the school to call each day of the absence.
