The Consequences of “Just Passing” in Senior Classes
Although demonstrated achievement at Level 1 will result in a student successfully earning credit, it is important to note that only at Level 3 or higher can parents be confident that students will be prepared for work in subsequent grades and/or courses.
Where a student has earned a credit at Level 1 or 2, remediation, summer school programming or tutoring is recommended, together with consideration of subsequent courses at an applied (Grades 9/10) or workplace or college (Grades11/12) preparation level.
Very few prestigious postsecondary schools will accept students who have not achieved at Level 3 or 4 in the courses being evaluated for acceptance.
