Student Led Interviews
Our parent teacher conferences are different! We ask that interviews take on a more goal-oriented approach and involve the students at all levels for a majority of the interview time slot.
Student-led interviews are a dynamic approach to parent-teacher conferences that empower students from grades 1 to 12 to take an active role in their educational journey. These interviews focus on foundational skills, goal setting, and demonstrating pride in their work, allowing students to take ownership of their learning goals and actively engage in the learning process.
During student-led interviews, students showcase their progress, achievements, and areas for growth. They discuss their strengths, challenges, and strategies they've employed to overcome obstacles. By actively participating in these interviews, students develop important communication and self-reflection skills.
Goal setting is a central component of student-led interviews. Students set academic, personal, and social goals, demonstrating their understanding of their learning needs and aspirations. Through goal setting, students learn to take ownership of their educational journey, fostering a sense of responsibility and accountability for their progress.
Additionally, student-led interviews promote a sense of pride in students' work. They can share projects, assignments, and accomplishments that they're proud of, showcasing their hard work and dedication. This pride of work motivates students to strive for excellence and take pride in their achievements.
Overall, student-led interviews empower students to be active participants in their education, fostering a sense of agency, responsibility, and engagement in their learning journey.
