Senior School Attendance for Assessment/Evaluation

Students are required to complete all missed work due to an absence from class. In the case of an unexcused absence, missed tests may not be made up; instead, the teacher will assign an alternate assessment or task to evaluate the missed curriculum expectations.

It is the student's responsibility to communicate with teachers about missed learning and assignments, and to develop a plan for submitting any missing evidence of learning.

A Senior School student must demonstrate competency in each of the course’s overall expectations in order to be granted credit. They may put their course credit in jeopardy by repeatedly missing course summative assessments. This attendance requirement applies to In-person, Online, and Blended learning courses.

Teachers in Primary, Junior and Middle School do not rely on formal testing as often as prevalent in Senior School. While formal testing does occur, students are more often marked on the activities and learning that is demonstrated through projects or summative assessments.
