Primary School Report Cards

Ontario Kindergarten Report Cards are usually written in prose and have a distinct format that fits the style of teaching that is occurring in Ontario FDK classes.

Since InnovOak focuses on teaching students to read, write and speak math, teachers in Primary School will have comments for each child that are specific to each of those areas. These are called a Summary of Early Literacy Learning and Summary of Early Numeracy Learning.

Our primary school teachers will write these comments in prose form and include specific observations for parents to understand. Comments will follow the Growing Success Curriculum Document that structures comments to be strength based and then incorporate next steps.

We focus our comments on three major areas, Early Literacy, Early Numeracy and Readiness to Learn. On top of that we provide 90 different Learning Progress Indicators and provide an update based on the skill acquisition.

Learning Progress Indicators

We document learning on the Primary Report Card using lookfors, which are progress indicators of what we expect students to be able to do.
