Final Exams
Scheduled exams are to be considered mandatory course components and failure to write them will result in either a failing grade or an incomplete credit unless the principal decides otherwise. Exams must be written at the date and time shared on the final assessments schedule.
The time expectations for exams are:
Grade 9 and 10: 1.5 hours
Grade 11 and 12: 2.5 hours
There are no scheduled classes during the final exam week, with exams being scheduled within the classroom during a modified school day
Period 1 exam or final assessment will usually be scheduled on the first exam day
Period 2 exam or final assessment will usually be scheduled on the first/ second exam day
Period 3 assessment will usually happen prior to the schedule as this is a LifeREADY course
Period 4 exam or final assessment will usually be scheduled on the third exam day
Teachers will not evaluate any submission from students found using unauthorized resources (cheating) on an exam or summative assessment task
In such cases, parents/guardians will be contacted and consequences will be determined by the principal
The teacher, in discussion with the principal, will determine if the student has submitted adequate evidence of achievement over the course of study to merit a credit in the subject
A student must demonstrate competency in each of the course overall expectations in order to be granted credit, therefore they may put their course credit in jeopardy cheating or plagiarizing assessments.
