Extended Absences from School

If you plan to have your child absent from school for more than five consecutive school days, please note that your child’s teacher will want to have a conversation around the impact on learning. While we respect your decision to withdraw your child temporarily, depending on circumstances, we may or may not be able to provide work to keep your child up to date.

We generally do not recommend Senior School students to be absent for five consecutive days. However, we understand that there may be exceptional circumstances that warrant discussion and planning to support student learning during the absence. We encourage you to contact the principal as soon as possible to discuss the issue and develop a plan if necessary.

Please remember that tuition commitments are separate and remain in effect for the entire school year. The school reserves a spot for your child to learn and does not fill spaces on a revolving or part-time basis.

If a student is away for more than 15 days, we may have not choice but to demit the student from our program. This policy does not apply to home instruction due to medical reasons.
